About Our Site

CarbonCounted was formed to offer a unique reference point on how to reduce your carbon footprint.

What is the real cost to the environment of our daily activities?

How much impact do our annual holidays have on the environment?

Should I take the train or fly on vacation?

How do I count the cost?

We have written this site to provide you with a wide variety of interesting and informative articles so that you can 'count your carbon cost'.

There are many government schemes around the world that can help to reduce carbon emissions. Although these plans are beneficial, it should be the responsibility of every person on the planet to take their own action to help reduce adverse impact.

Carbon offsetting is a popular choice, which enables individuals to count the carbon that they are pumping into the atmosphere from their various activities and to offset those emissions by 'trading' in sustainable commodities.

For example, if you go on holiday for two weeks, flying to your destination and hiring a car, it is perfectly possible to calculate how much carbon you have used. From there, you can work out how best to offset that amount, by perhaps contributing to tree plantations or other sustainable projects.

Of course, this is only one aspect of being a responsible green person. In fact, we also have to change our lifestyles so that we don't generate unnecessary carbon in the first place.

This site will help you and your family to achieve life-changing strategies to help protect our environment.

Our concern was that there was no single UK resource for interesting features and practical advice on this subject.

Our features and articles are written by experts - who have experience, or a particular interest in this area.
